Borrowing Books and Articles From Elsewhere Using Our Library's Interlibrary Loan System

  • WMU has a superb interlibrary loan service available to WMU students, faculty and staff. If you identify books and articles we do not own, they will do their utmost to borrow them for your use, usually at no cost to you.
    • Journal articles are generally digitized and sent to your email box within a few days of request.
    • Books take a bit longer, since they come through the mail, normally, within one to two weeks.
  • To use interlibrary loan, LOG IN with your BroncoNet ID and password
  • You can submit an interlibrary loan request directly from many of our databases using the  button.
    • Click on it when viewing an article record to see if WMU owns the journal that contains the article.
    • If we do not, you will see a link underneath it that says "Request It."
    • Just login in with your BroncoNetID and password and let the system do the rest.

Note: You can also search the WorldCat database by topic or individual title to discover and request books that are "out there"  in libraries across the country and beyond. You can then submit an interlibrary loan request right from the WorldCat database using the  button and the Request It link.
