Library Subject Guides

Consider pointing your students to the appropriate Subject Guide on the Libraries website. Choose the Guide for your area from the  Subject Guides page which has the guides arranged by topic. The Subject Guide for your area of study includes a subject-specific collection of resources such as journal article databases, books, government and statistical information, and much more.

We recommend putting the link to this guide in your sylllabus or in your course site. This will give them convenient access to the best resources for their research projects.

Off Campus Library Services

If you are teaching a class online (though e-learning) or at one of WMU's regional centers, check out the special off campus services we offer.

Placing Materials on Course Reserves

Instructors may place books, articles, videos, recordings, and other materials on reserve for a course. To use course reserves, instructors need to set up a course and add materials.

Using Videos from the Libraries

WMU Libraries have several collections of streaming videos. To browse or search these collections see our Streaming Video Research Guide.

Requests to reserve an instructional video to need to be submitted at least 48 hours in advance of pickup date (excluding weekends) by current faculty, staff or graduate assistants. If your request cannot be processed as submitted, we will contact you by telephone or email within 48 hours (excluding weekends).
