Information Literacy and Library Instruction: Professional Development

Research and Instruction Professional Development at WMU Libraries

Professional development for Instruction & Outreach (I&O) will help librarians continually expand and enhance their knowledge and application of innovative pedagogies in learning, teaching, outreach, and research. Using a peer instruction model, librarians will collaborate and share their expertise with each other in order to meet the WMU Libraries’ information literacy and research services goals and outcomes.

For each professional development (PD) session, the leader will identify the following:

  • What is the PD session about?
  • Why is the PD session important/useful?
  • How will librarians be able to use what they learn in the PD session?
  • Any preparation needed of participants

Any librarian may lead an I&O PD session. All library employees are welcome to attend.
