Embedding videos

All videos in collections licensed by WMU can be used in Elearning, presentations, and other instructional webpages.  Remote (off campus) use of licensed resources requires users to be authenticated into the resource site.  WMU manages authentication with a proxy server.  You may need to incorporate this proxy server prefix ( https://libproxy.library.wmich.edu/login?url= ) into URLs you embed. See the boxes below for step by step directions.

Alexander Street Press Titles

Alexander Street Press Video Collections include American History in Video, Dance in Video, Counseling and Therapy in Video, Education in Video, Theater in Video, and Opera in Video. Follow the directions below to create a link which can be embedded in an online class or webpage.

  1. Select the desired collection, and identify the video you want to link to.
  2. Click the Embed / Link icon below the video window.
  3. A new window will open displaying the URL for the video. Copy the entire URL.
  4. You may now paste this link into your desired location.

Links and embed codes are automatically configured to include the proxy prefix.
