Library of Congress Classification

Library of Congress Classification (LCC) is an organization scheme developed by the Library of Congress to shelve books. This system is how call numbers (the numbers on the spine of a book) are determined for each book. It is arranged by classes (general topics) and subclasses (specific topics) so that books with similar subjects are next to each other.
