Books in the WMU Libraries' Collections

Use WMU's Library Search to search for print and online books.

  • Use Advanced Search
  • Limit to Books and Media
  • One concept per line  
  • Use quotation marks for phrases: "Animal Farm."
  • Set dropdown to Subject to find information about an author or a work of fiction,
  • About an Author? Last name first

Reading call numbers

Most books related to literary criticism will have a call number that starts with P.

The P's are located on the first floor in Waldo Library.

When to use books

Books are ideal for information on

  • an author's life and literary biography
  • a particular genre or literary movement
  • a literary theme or device
  • a social or historical context for a book
  • a philosophy, theory, or school of thought that contextualizes literature
  • broad scope on the history of literature and how that piece fits into it.

  • Use your WIN in order to request materials.
