Textbook Selection Criteria

University Libraries prioritizes purchasing textbooks using the following criteria:

  • Lower-level (1000-2000) courses
  • High enrollment (at least 50 students)
  • Taught face-to-face on the main campus
  • Published in the last three years

Textbooks beyond the scope of these criteria are considered on a case-by-case basis. Faculty interested in requesting textbooks to be placed on reserve may contact Julie Hayward at (269) 387-5173 or julie.hayward@wmich.edu.
