Your research paper needs to describe an applied science problem and proposed solution(s) to that problem. You will probably start with either a general topic:

Nanotechnology

OR you may have a question:

How can nanotechnology be used in medicine?

Neither of these is sufficient to write your IEE1020 research paper. You need a PROBLEM and one or more SOLUTIONS. You need to state these in a problem statement.

For example:

This paper discusses how the effectiveness of cancer chemotherapy can be improved through the use of nanoparticle medicines.
