Instructor Guide for Library Course Reserves

Home

Books, articles, videos, recordings and other materials may be placed on reserve in the library or electronically for a course. You can start your library course reserves request in two ways:

  1. Use your instructor account to set-up your course and add items online. WMU Libraries will review all items submitted online for compliance with copyright guidelines and accessibility standards.
  2. Email lib-rsc@wmich.edu for assistance. A library staff member will review your request, search for materials in the Libraries' collections, digitize physical materials, and upload them to the system

Materials

Books and other physical materials will be located at the Service Desk in Waldo Library. Articles and other short texts will be available electronically through this system.

All requests must comply with WMU Libraries' copyright guidelines for course reserves, including limitations on item types and the amount digitized.

A minimum of two days processing time is required to make new reserve items available to students. Additional processing time may be required at the beginning and at the end of terms and before exams. Material that must be searched, recalled and/or ordered through interlibrary loan, require additional processing time.
