Salem Witch Trials

The Salem Witch Trials Documentary Archive and Transcription Project, hosted by the University of Virginia, consists of an electronic collection of primary source materials relating to the Salem witch trials of 1692 and a new transcription of the court records.  Also included are contemporary books, record books, and images of the original court documents.

On January 10, 1776, British-born Thomas Paine anonymously published the pamphlet "Common Sense."  It came to be one of the most important documents of the American Revolution.
