You can read PDF articles you have in your Zotero library directly in your Zotero window. You can do the following in any editable PDF:
- Highlight sections of text (in a range of colors).
- Underline text.
- Add a note.
- Write text annotations on the margins.
- Draw on the document.
- Put a box around a paragraph.
The toolbar with the annotation features will appear at the top of the PDF reader.

You can then extract the highlighted sections from the PDF as a separate note in Zotero. To do this, simply right-click on the PDF, and select "Add note from annotations."
