MUS 3300: Choral Conducting and Literature

From the WMU Undergraduate Catalog: "The fundamentals of choral conducting are presented, including patterns and rehearsal techniques. The study and selection of literature appropriate to various levels of junior and senior high school choirs is included.

Find audio and video in the library using Library Search (search box below).

Hints:

  • Type keywords in the box to the left, click on "Search."
  • Once you have completed a search, you can try an Advanced Search from the results screen and combine several terms to find recordings on specific topics.
  • To limit Library Search to only recordings, books, and other items owned by the WMU Libraries, click on the "Books and Media" tab.
  • Composers, editors and performers should be searched as authors.
  • For works without unique titles (symphonies, string quartets, etc.), it is best to combine terms in an advanced search.
  • It often helps to include an opus or other number (such as BWV number for Bach).
  • Search song titles as phrases, using quotation marks.
  • Use categories on the left of the results screen to narrow your results.

WMU Concerts

The library has recordings of School of Music ensemble concerts from the 1970s to now. Find them using the library catalog. For best results, search ensemble names (University Chorale, University Concert Band, Gold Company, etc.) as authors.
